Our Story
I’m Erika, founder behind Brody Boy’s. Alongside is my husband and our two dogs, Letty and Ryker. Our dogs are my biggest inspiration when creating this venture. Letty was picky at the time and Ryker is a huge foodie.
Most treat options available are made with low quality ingredients and preservatives that are so severely processed our dog’s body can’t even recognize them in the digest process. Because to them, they are “just dogs”. If you are in the same mindset as me, our world revolves around our dogs. I started making homemade treats for Letty and Ryker because I didn’t trust what was available. If I am conscious about ingredients in my food, I feel it is just as important, if not more, to watch what is being put in theirs. I went down the rabbit hole of research, to this day I am still gaining knowledge in dog nutrition so I can offer more than just a treat. Options that have beneficial nutrients so you can feel good about what you are feeding your dog.
When I added proteins to my treat line up sourcing was a high priority. Finding a local supplier who works directly with Texas farms. These farms humanely raise, grass-fed/finished and/or pasture raised, and process their livestock resulting in high quality clean proteins.
Our mission is simple: do right by our dogs by offering high quality treats made with minimal, clean ingredients.
Brody’s Story
We adopted Brody in August 2020. He was found wondering the streets of San Antonio, Texas. He was roughly 2 years old. What a hell hound he was, as the first few weeks of being off the streets were rough haha. Like using our coffee table like he was Mufasa. He loved chasing wildlife from our property, even when we built a 7ft fence to keep us from having to search for him at night. Letty taught him how to box and they enjoyed cuddling on the couch together. Surprisingly he wasn’t much of a swimmer, he enjoyed napping on lake days. February 2021, Brody passed away from Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy (ARVC).
Brody taught us to live like that 7 foot fence wasn’t holding you back. Life is short and every adventure counts.
